Are there any benefits to attending church? With the many other activities you can accomplish on your time, why should you decide to dress up and take a drive (or stroll) to spend a few hours at the church that claims to be a home of God?
The Reasons to Not Attend Church
Before we discuss the benefits of going in church, lets look at some of the reasons why people aren't going to church. I was raised in a culture that was a church-going culture. on Sundays or on Saturdays. It was the norm. In certain instances parents or guardians would take their kids to the church, even in the event that they did not go because that's how it was.
Perhaps you were raised in the same environment. But with so many things to do on your weekends what is the best way to spend your time?
Before the coronavirus snatched us inside our homes and separated us from the Amarillo Churches community, people have had many reasons not to attend church. Here are a few of the most common reasons (excuses that you've employed at one point or two...I admit to being guilty of a few among them):
Let me talk in my own head for a moment The church isn't about you. It's all about God. It's about serving and loving the people God is a servant to and loves. I understand, I truly do. Some of the reasons you don't like attending Trinity Church Amarillo are valid, but let's look at some of the advantages of attending church.
The Reasons to Go to Church is beneficial for your health
Regular attendance at church can provide physical, spiritual and emotional benefits. Research has proven that people who are believers in God are healthier. I believe it's because God created us to the worship of God (Isaiah 41:21). However, here are a few additional reasons to attend the church.
- Reduces stress: Attending church regularly can provide positive effects on your mental health. You'll experience less stress worry, stress, and worries. There's no reason to think that people who attend church do not have these problems It's when we can be focused on the main reason that we attend the church (to sit at the feet of God) we can have faith.
- Friendship: There are lots of people in the church. If you regularly attend church and make friends, you'll be able to make new ones and find godly mentors and other people who share your interests to hang out with.
- Worship in a church: although salvation is a personal affair the worship experience is communal. We gain from worshiping together with other people. God placed us in a groups because He believes this is the most effective way to strengthen our faith.
- Opportunities to make use of your gifts Being member of the church provides us the opportunity to utilize our talents. When we join our church God provides each one of us with an opportunity to use our spiritual gifts (1 Peter 4:10). Your local church will need the blessing God has granted the gift of you (1 Corinthians 12:7).
- 5. The opportunity of introducing children God The church is a wonderful opportunity to expose children to the unconditional love of God. A lot of people believe that children don't know what's being taught in the church, but I've witnessed children with faith lead their families towards Christ. Jesus declared that we are to behave like kids (Matthew 18:3). Don't let your children miss out on the opportunity to be part of members of the household of God.
- To encourage you To encourage yourself: We all know that at some point during your Christian journey, you'll be tempted to give up. If you tell anyone living in the world or even in the world, they might advise you to stay away from God because , a majority of the time, Christianity doesn't make sense-at least at least not in the way that the people of the world can comprehend. However, being regularly connected to your fellow believers is a reminder that hardships of life are for a brief period (2 Corinthians 4:7).
- A great way to get started in leadership A church can be the ideal place to study the skills of leadership and to apply what you've learned within an open and accepting group. Many congregations allow you take part in services, which allows you to learn skills like speaking, organizing or public speaking.
- Offers opportunities to give back to your community Service is among the core values that the Church has. It is our duty to become followers to Christ and that means helping people who are around us. The church lets us serve in the community and our locality.
- Learns to love one another: One of the biggest benefits of attending church is the opportunity to learn to be a loving person to others. It's been said often that churches are full of the hypocrites (I'm guilty of saying the same thing) However, if we take a look at ourselves, we'll see that churches have always faced issues. Everyone is a imperfect, broken, and sinful and as such, we'll be prone to doing and saying things that do not really reflect what we really are.
If we want to emulate Christ Jesus, we must spend time with those He was with. We need to be devoted to those Jesus likes. As we learn to be loved by them, we will learn how God is a loving God to us.
- Access to resources that you might not have otherwise access to I know a lot of people who have claimed they could not read until they joined the church. Others had access to scholarships to help fund their education. People have been given resources to start businesses, and others were coached and mentored to be more successful version of their own.
- Introduces people to Jesus Christ Let's not forget the most amazing advantage of attending church-Jesus. The church educates people about God. Through the activities that the congregation offers, they are taught to read our Bibles and to pray. We also get to know the more we can about our Heavenly Father. We are a one of God's eternal and living body of Christ.
What does the Bible has to say about going to church
One of the primary reasons why we shouldn't just go to church every week, but also remain an active member of the church is that it is a way to honor God. Even Jesus God, the God-fearing Son of God often attended churches. He did this as He was a godly man and also because He desired to visit places where God's people gathered.
He went to Nazareth in the city where he had been raised. As was the tradition, he attended the synagogue on Sabbath dayand got up for a read(Luke 4:16 ESV).
Christ utilized His gifts for the church, and did it in ways that brought praise and glory for His father. Because Jesus is our model and model, we must act similarly.
On another Sabbath day, he entered the synagogue to teach there was a man there, and his right hand was in a state of deterioration (Luke 6:6 ESV).
Paul described the Church as as the "household belonging to God" and"the "body of Christ". Because Jesus is so closely aligned to the church , shouldn't we do the same?
I am hoping to speak to you shortly, but I am writing these words to you in order that, in the event that I am delayed you can know how you should conduct themselves in the house of God that is the body of living God is a strong solid foundation for the gospel (1 Timothy 3:14-15 ESV).
He is also in charge of all the bodies, which is the church. He is the the firstborn after the death of and in all things the world he could be supreme (Colossians 1:8 ESV).
The writer of Hebrews exhorted the believers at the time to stay within the fellowship. I would like to believe that he knew the temptation to leave the church from the church and therefore he offered the following words:
Let us think about ways to inspire each other to goodness and love and not putting off getting together with each other in the manner of certain, but also supporting one another, and more so when you witness the Day getting closer (Hebrews 10:24-25 ESV).
What is the reason people go to Church? A Young Community's Struggle to Reclaim Church to Make it Better
There are plenty of reasons to criticize, judge, and even walk away from the church. Many of us have experienced being disappointed and rejected. The church may be seen as being apathetic and insignificant. Yet, Kevin Makins believes that the church has a place in society-perhaps more than ever before.
When Kevin was just 23 and didn't have any idea of what he was doing when he began a church along with a few acquaintances who were on the edge of their faith. They hoped to find out whether the church is worth fighting for. In this candid story, he relates the story of how they became a group of misfits, people who were deemed outcasts and weirdos who realized that, despite all its shortcomings the church is worthy of being part of . . . and should be used for the good.
If you've been slain or exiled at church or if you've felt ignored or misunderstood even if you've walked away or haven't joined at all This honest, positive book is your opportunity to think about what you've missed out when you quit on church. It also reveals what the church loses out when it lets go of you.
My Retrospective of Why Should Anyone Want to Go to Church?
I purchased this book due to being interested by the name. For someone who struggle to be member of the church I'm always on the search for books that bring me back to the reasons why I am a part of the church of Christ. I'm not saying that I am a huge fan of Jesus however, being an introvert, I often find being around other people difficult.
I was really interested in knowing what we are missing out in the event that we give up on the church or what the church loses out when it gives to us. This book isn't that. What makes people go for Church is the tale of an Eucharist Church which was established in the city of Hamilton, Ontario. It's a tale of the beginning 6 years that the Church was in existence as well as the experiences of one congregation. Although this book told an interesting story, and was well-written and simple to understand, the book failed to perform to the standards it promised and I'm still unsure how to evaluate the book and what I should review it.
Let me conclude by saying If you're close to leaving the church, or aren't certain of where you belong The tale about the Eucharist Church could provide you with the hope that there's a church that is waiting to help you. It might make you want to join a similar group of believers, and perhaps you will recall the reason why the church is important for the Christian.
Pastor Kevin spoke openly about his struggles in starting the church as well as his successes and mistakes from his community. His honesty can help you be open about what you would like from your church. He also reminds that no two churches need to be exactly the same. Be aware of the different aspects within your church. Be a member of the Body of Christ in the knowledge that you are given a distinct roles to fulfill.
Be aware of God. Every one of us is required to establish a personal connection with God. If we wish to be a part of God's family, God we must spend time in getting to be acquainted with God.
Take note of yourself. Just as we have different spiritual gifts we each have different needs to members of the Body of Christ. If you don't join the church, you are robbing the local church of your gifts , and you fail to accomplish the mission God has assigned you to complete.
Get your race on the track-Pastor Kevin is a reminder that the road we have laid out for us might not be the same for everyone else. We need to figure out our own path. This could mean that other do not understand what we're doing however, when God has been calling us to do something then we must be faithful. I was provided with an advanced reader's copy of the book as an element of the Baker Bloggers program; a positive review was not required.

Are there benefits to going to Church?
Pastor Makins asked the question: Why would someone attend church? His question is valid. With all the things that are competing for your attention and time it is up to you to decide what you'll be focusing on. In addition you must determine if attending church will benefit your family and you.
It's true that it can appear as if the church has become an outdated system that has done its role and needs to be thrown out however, I am here to affirm that it's not. It's a place in which we learn to view people in the way that God perceives them. We can learn to appreciate and be thankful for the love God has shown us, in the knowledge that He is the one who loves us.
